What drives adventure?

Shackleton, Lewis and Clark, Hillary and Powell. These are but a fraction of those who have sought adventure but what do they all have in common? An uncompromising approach to being average? Child like curiosity to whats around the next corner? Perhaps the drive to find something greater, something greater than themselves or their lives. Maybe it is simply a greater awareness of their surroundings.
Dreaming of lofty peaks and uncharted rivers in our society is certainly nothing new. Our basic nature as hunter gatherers could persuade an argument of a drive to explore. This desire not born of seeking adventure and excitement, but out of the sheer need for survival. Is it something we've lost? The desire to see new places and have new experiences? I think not, we all dream. The difference comes in living those dreams.  Things here at UWS Adventures are quickly changing. We are transitioning away from offering summer adventure programs for kids and stepping more into the realm of full on adventure travel. We will be offering itineraries to adults and families in the near future. Raft a remote river, learn to flyfish, travel through remote backcountry on horseback and sleep under the stars. Where do your dreams take you? Let us help you get there! for more information
